Project 52 – Week 14 – Looking at Trees

This has been a busy and tiring and stressful and joyous week.   My sister gave birth to her second son, a beautiful baby.  However, his arrival was unexpected (though she nicely waited until I arrived before going into labour) my sister ended up staying in hospital longer than expected. Thank goodness the baby is as serene as he is lovely and he has borne all of the goings on around him without any fuss, sleeping quietly. Somehow I don’t think he will remain this peaceful if his 2 year old brother is any indication.

Speaking of his brother, he’s been staying with my parents (my sister’s bathroom is also being renovated – this seems to happen a lot when women are pregnant, they are renovating or building or some such). So everyone has been at my parents.  All the goings on are hard for a 2 year old and while he has done very well all things considered, he has had his moments.  A couple of days ago I took him to the park which is my task of the week:

30. Go To The Park

He loves being outside and after playing on the equipment (though refusing to go on anything with a spider web on it) and a play on the rocks, he plonked himself in my lap and together we looked at the trees.  It was a lovely moment.  Then we walked around the park examining the trees and the different bark and the roots.  I told him about the different trees and taught him the word deciduous which he said back to me in his little baby voice (smart little boy he is)

These are the little moments that you treasure and I’ll remember this one with him.  He won’t remember it but I will remember the day we went to the park and looked at trees.
